hehe, my bbsg shift is finally over, and it was unbelievably fun!!! :D i really never expected that it could be this fun (: i mean like, it was so fun that i wanted to go again the day after my shift! but meh, my parents didn't allow... but it really was so fun!
okay okay, i shall admit, being primers oic was kind of a slack job... after all, the oic's supposed to be in charge of the primers welfare, communication with higher ups, make sure everything's running smoothly, doing the random odd jobs and filling in for the primers that need help. and with a shift full of primers which fulfilled their role so spectacularly, everything was a breeze for me :D the ops team also caused no conflict with us after all, so all the more, less for me to do. so i mainly sat in the centre of operations, helping out with the phone calls and settling the deliveries, then from time to time walking around to ask the warehouse people to housekeep certain areas here and there.
morning to night for 5 days, goodness, i was enjoying myself so thoroughly and barely noticed it. then came along toj with his perfect analysis of the situation... rawr! why does tojie always know how to perfectly analyse all these things... heh anyway, he was like, this 5 days is just like a camp, cut yourself off from the rest of the world and do all this stuff, spending the entire day with all your friends. it's so true! okay lah kinda obvious, but i just saw of it as just another activity i was doing with people. i guess it seems like nothing at first, but once you've gone through it, i guess you start to miss all the little things that happened as well, regardless of how stupid they all were.
i can't really narrate stuff that happened... but ah, there's still lots of stuff that i'll miss (:
walking to breadtalk in the morning with toj;
that heavenly bun with the warm chocolatey cheese filling your mouth;
making the cordial in the stolen drink dispenser with countless different people;
having that big block of ice in the cordial last overnight and still be there in the morning;
sitting at the hotline area laughing about the stupidest of things with grace and bynes;
fighting over answering the hotline with sirui and bynes;
answering the hotline with the super formal voice and constantly being the victim of spotchecks of how we answer the phone;
hearing bynes answer the phone with his sleepy-sounding voice;
hearing sirui scream when the hotline would rang;
calling people using the nice hot pink phone;
seeing sirui put the white receiver on the black phone;
teasing xunwei about his newfound 'best friend';
watching toj, daniel and joseph talking to their boys in nsk chinese (first time i understood toj's chinese too!);
having the boys sitting at the menDING table for me to talk to as well;
giggling a little to myself whenever the manpower ic came to attention whenever he saw me, almost as if i were some military officer;
going back together with bynes, xunwei, toj and daniel;
staying overnight at hq with the same 4 guys;
borrowing a toothbrush from the warehouse and promising to return it at a giftbox;
playing poker using staples as chips;
ahhh okay obviously a lot a lot of things lah. it was really really good spending time with all the people in my shift (: the fact that we were thrown together for 5 days straight was good for that i guess, like, just pure interaction with the same people over and over (: and of course, it feels nice to see all these things done for the less fortunate (: and i'm not being cheesy here, i really mean it! what greater symbiosis can we get!
okay this was a very haphazzard post, but nevermind! i love bbsg!
